Clippers Vs Timberwolves

Edwards, Russell Rally Wolves Past Clippers to Nab 7th Seed

Game Summary: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. LA Clippers (109-105)

January 14, 2023

Despite a lackluster performance from All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 109-105 on Saturday night, securing the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.

Anthony Edwards led the Wolves with 28 points, while D'Angelo Russell added 25. Towns, who finished with just 13 points on 5-of-18 shooting, was held in check by the Clippers' defense.

The Timberwolves trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but they chipped away at the lead and took the lead for good midway through the third quarter. Edwards and Russell were key in the comeback, as they combined for 31 points in the second half.

The Clippers were led by Paul George, who had 26 points, and Reggie Jackson, who added 21 off the bench. Kawhi Leonard missed the game due to a right knee injury.

The win was a big one for the Timberwolves, who have won four of their last five games. They are now 26-25 on the season and are in a good position to make the playoffs.

The Clippers, meanwhile, fell to 22-29 with the loss. They are now in ninth place in the Western Conference and will need to finish strong to make the playoffs.

The Timberwolves will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night, while the Clippers will travel to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
