Early Life and Career
Adam Bennett Schiff was born on June 22, 1960, in Framingham, Massachusetts. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. After graduating, Schiff worked as an assistant U.S. Attorney in the Central District of California.
Political Career
Schiff entered politics in 2000 when he was elected to the California State Senate, where he served until 2009. In 2000, he was elected to the United States House of Representatives.
Schiff is a member of the Democratic Party. He is currently the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In this role, he has played a key role in the investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
