The Blue Jays scored three runs in the first inning off Peterson on an RBI double by George Springer, a run-scoring single by Bo Bichette, and a sacrifice fly by Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Toronto added three more runs in the third inning on a two-run homer by Teoscar Hernandez and an RBI single by Lourdes Gurriel Jr.

Mets bats go silent

The Mets offense was held in check by Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, who allowed just two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out six.

The Mets scored their first run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Mark Canha, and they added another run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Eduardo Escobar.
